This is not a final legal document. These documents are for parent testing and must be reviewed by a qualified South African legal professional before public launch.
What SchoolSwap SA does and doesn’t do
- SchoolSwap SA helps parents list, discover and enquire about second-hand school items.
- SchoolSwap SA does not process or hold payment for any listing.
- SchoolSwap SA does not manage courier bookings or guarantee successful delivery or handover.
- Enquiries submitted during testing are not automatically delivered to sellers, and reported listings are not automatically reviewed by a moderation team.
- SchoolSwap SA does not verify the identity of every parent using this prototype.
Seller responsibility
Sellers are responsible for describing their item, its condition and any defects accurately, and for arranging handover or delivery directly and safely with the buyer.
Buyer responsibility
Buyers are responsible for reviewing listing photos and details, asking questions before agreeing to buy, and confirming an item in person before completing payment.
Arranging handover
Buyers and sellers arrange payment, delivery and handover directly between themselves. SchoolSwap SA is not a party to that arrangement and does not guarantee its outcome.
Reporting and safety
If a listing seems inaccurate, misleading or suspicious, use Report listing on that listing. See Safety for guidance on meeting sellers safely.
