Privacy

This is not a final legal document. These documents are for parent testing and must be reviewed by a qualified South African legal professional before public launch. SchoolSwap SA does not currently claim full compliance with POPIA or any other privacy law.

What this prototype stores

SchoolSwap SA does not yet have user accounts or a backend server. Instead, the following is stored only in your browser’s local storage on this device:

  • Saved (liked) items
  • Recently viewed listings
  • Your in-progress sell draft
  • Your profile details (name, contact details, preferred school)
  • Enquiries you submit about listings
  • Reports you submit about listings
  • Feedback you submit through the Feedback page
  • Whether you’ve dismissed the first-time tester notice

How this data is used

  • This data stays on your device and is not sent to a server automatically.
  • It does not sync across browsers or devices.
  • No live payment processing occurs — SchoolSwap SA does not collect or store payment details.
  • Enquiries are not automatically delivered to sellers yet, and reports are not automatically reviewed by a moderation team.
  • Clearing your browser data, or using Reset prototype data in Account settings, removes it.
